What is the difference between a conventional and an addressable system?
A conventional system tells you only which zone triggered; an addressable system identifies the exact device. Skärpt prices addressable systems here because they shorten response time and simplify maintenance in larger buildings.
Which detector type should I use where?
Smoke detectors suit offices, corridors and general areas. Heat detectors suit kitchens, boiler rooms and dusty areas where smoke detectors would false-alarm. Multi-sensor detectors combine both for mixed spaces, and flame detectors are used in high-risk areas with fast-developing fires.
How many loops does my panel need?
Each loop carries a limited number of addressable devices, so the loop count follows the total device count and the building layout. The calculator selects the panel size automatically and you can see each option's price in the table above.
Is battery backup included?
72-hour battery backup is an optional project-level add-on in the calculator; select it if your authority or insurer requires extended standby autonomy.
Can the alarm be linked to the fire brigade or a BMS?
Yes. A fire brigade interface and BMS/SCADA integration are both optional add-ons, and voice evacuation can be added where phased evacuation messages are required.
